The fruit is sourced from a single site in the heart of McLaren Vale on Pirramimma Sandstone, providing fresh and vibrant fruit with a touch of earthiness and spice.
WINEMAKING
The Nero d’Avola was harvested at peak flavour ripeness, with a fine balance of bright natural acidity. Fermentation began spontaneously with wild yeast and progressed relatively quickly, held at moderate temperatures in open-top fermenters. Maturation took place in seasoned French oak hogsheads for 5 months.
TASTING
Colour: Vivid crimson-purple
Bouquet:Bright blackcurrant, plum and mulberry with some floral notes and a delicate herbal lift.
Palate: Medium-bodied, brimming with berry fruit and spice, lifted by a subtle savoury edge. Bright cranberry acidity adds vibrancy, while firm yet supple tannins provide gentle structure.
